Introduction

TOUCH offers a variety of services and programs to support the HIV/AIDS infected person. These programs and designed to allow for efficient conservation of energy. Realizing that energy is a precious commodity for those fighting this disease, one goal is to maintain that energy and utilize it in the best possible manner. Beyond basic care giving and support the HIV/AIDS population, TOUCH hopes to erase the discrimination and fear surrounding the issues associated with HIV/AIDS in the community. By enrolling the support of all faith communities, educational institutions and people at large in the community, TOUCH provides volunteer and service programs which offer the HIV/AIDS infected person everything from grocery delivery and counseling services to alcohol and drug abuse treatment programs. Through these programs, people with HIV/AIDS continue to do their own work and live their own lives, with support, needed supplies, love and care.

TOUCH is able to make appropriate referrals to many agencies throughout Rockland County including the Rockland County Department of Health and the Department of Social Services and other HIV/AIDS specific agencies. In addition, TOUCH provides streamlined housing referrals for Section 8 and other government programs as well as legal referrals for the preparation of wills, planning for surviving children, assistance with Social Security problems, and eviction notices.
